If you live in the city or have a suburban property, you may not be fortunate enough to have a large outside space. Typically city or suburban properties will only have a small terrace or yard, and you may be short of ideas of what to do with this space. With a little imagination you can convert the smallest outside spaces into somewhere that is an extension of your home and somewhere you would be happy to spend your time.
Think about what type of furniture would fit your outside space. Consider a small table and chairs or a small seat. Don’t use anything too be which may make your space look cramped.
Brighten up small spaces with cheap but effective lighting. Look at solar powered Christmas lights that can be hang down the walls or wrapped around plants and trellace to create a fun and lively space.
Use pot plants to make your outside space a more natural environment. Plants with the use of lighting and furniture can create an amazing small space. Use bamboo, small palms, and hosta to create a tropical feel.
Use light colours like white to paint brickwork to make the space feel bigger than it actually is. Use a good masonry paint to save you having to constantly repaint. Position you planting and furniture to create a balanced space which gives you room to move but also feels cosy.
